Did you found out what was the problem with your battery ?
Mine also got flat after 4 days of non use

Not exactly. Maybe the aftermarket alarm system. My technician said sometimes need a restart (disconnect and reconnect battery) for these systems. That's just a clue.
But it's strange you have the same as me after install the head unit. Maybe the head unit not constantly drain the battery. A whole night amperage monitor could be fine, but I can't make this.

@losdamianos @peti007 did you find what's up with the battery drainage? I've just returned from a week-long vacation and my car's battery is dead.. I've been on longer holidays before installing head unit, so obviously - eonon is the first suspect as the one and only "power eating" modification done since the last trip.

I'll wait some time more and go check what's the consumption after disconnecting the battery. If the head unit is the cause, I'm considering to make an additional on-off switch to the power cable..

I use the car almost every day. So no problem now, but the voltage is about 12,4V in the morning. When my battery drained, I disconnected the HU (with canbus adapter) and then connect it again while my multimeter was inline and the current increased by 10mA. That's OK. But I didn' check current after the HU booted up and than goes to standby. Maybe drains battery because not shut down completly.

Just got the unit and noticed there isnt any fan from behind. The hole is covered with a plastic. Is it designed like that?

ok, tested. with and without HU. amps seems to be the same, so looks like there's no drainage with the unit - but I've tested now by taking off the fuse, not taking off the whole unit [no time for that right now ;(]

I'll make an additional on-off switch anyway..

if the situation will show up again, I'll perform more tests. right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that tomorrow morning the car will start normally

Hi Eonon, you guys provided me via email a firmware update (firmware is dated 3/11/2015) that will allow me to change the clock and was suppose to help with the steering wheel controls. After updating it the bluetooth streaming is horrible. I described the quality in Post #359. Unfortunately, from the recent posts, other users have the same problems now once them made the firmware update.

Please help. I have emailed a recording of the quality to Alice at Eonon but I keep telling her that the recording cannot pick up the quality difference as you physically need to be in the car to hear how bad it sounds now.

Eonon technicians should be able to just take a GA5151 headunit and update their firmware and they will definitely be able to hear the loss of sound quality themselves.

Please help.

It couldn't be random we have battery drain after install head unit.
The on-off switch is just a workaround and not a solution! I hate workarounds because it means there is a design fault what the buyer have to work out.

losdamianos, peejay: What canbus decoder do you have built in? The red, what have been sent with the HU, or the "updated" black one? I use the red.

Hi wolfcult & amcastro1 & peti007, please do not worry, you can still use the LCD for trip computer on our GA5151/GM5151/D5151 units by doing some changes. One of our fans seanlin08 has made it work and shared with us his detailed steps, it is really very helpful and a good job! :nice:

IF you live in the UK DO NOT BUY thru group buy as it will ship thru china = taxes buy thru UK website instead

Hi SootyBean, I think you should have chosen HK not US warehouse. Since you chose HK warehouse, then the unit will be sent from HK directly, then you need to pay for the taxes. So for the US customers, if you don't want to pay customs taxes, please choose US warehouse to buy, thanks.

The trip computer info that used to show from the left side of the lcs that it shows the clock .I am talking about the LCD display not the head unit. Like fuel consumption and every fuel related info .
I read from earlier posts that the can decoder from gm5151 works with ga5151 without loosing trip computer info. If is that the case have you ever tried to use the gm 5151 decoder with ga5151 unit ? Its a shame gm series models of eonon everything works and on the newer version trip computer doesnt work.
Also the radio reception like other members noticed isnt as good as the oem unit. Is there any way to improve that?

This response just sums up to me how crappy your company is. Social media is powerful and I will make sure to never recommend your product to anyone ever. Your lack of knowledge on the product you sell, the way you do business, stating something works 100% and then later saying that feature doesn't work and the constant "Just Enjoy" really irks the heck out of me.

I'm still trying to get the rep at Eonon to believe there are bluetooth quality issues. They keep saying they don't hear anything wrong and no one else has made complaints about it to them.
