I have the "factory" remote starter with the alarm but my programming/override switch hasn't worked right from day one. (Probably doesn't help that the button and spring came flying out before I even installed it, nice quality.) Does anyone know if the original switch is a N.C. switch (normally closed) like this one, http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=060-158, OR a N.O. switch (normally open) like this one, http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=060-157. Thanks!

It should be normally open, the factory remote start is made by CODE alarm. It's easy to test though, just cut the two wires going into the switch and momentarily contact them. You should get teh same effect as pressing the button.

Thanks! I was thinking it should be N.O. also but even though I've installed many car stereos this was my first remote/alarm install.
