It's for when you turn your lights on it dims the illustration on the radio

yup the horizontal red lLED line oon the stereo has effects.. when you turn volume up and down, change stations/songs or discs different parts of it illuminat brighter... if you select ill effect off this will stop happening.. the red hortizontal line will simply be ON and constant no matter what you so.. until you torn you stereo off.. then it turns off.

When you change the volume knob, softer or louder, lights will go "up and down" in a scale horizontally.

Each hypen represents a different led that lights up when you adjust the volume up or down.

yes its for a totally useless feature of turning the vvolume illumination off.
Why you would want a feature like this only God knows. So if anyone finds him lol please ask him for me
