How and Where To Install a Basslink Remote - Ideas?

I just wanted to get some ideas as to how people have installed an Infinity Basslink Remote in their Mazdas.
I think ideas and pictures would be good to share.

Ideas for any other remotes/control/buttons that people added would be useful, also.
I asked about the Basslink remote just because it's shape/size forced me to be a bit creative in mounting it.

As soon as I'm done I'll post what I did with pics.

If the basslink2 remote is similar to the basslink 1 remote, the best spot for me was using my dremel to make a cutout in the top compartment of the storage compartment in the center console. I ran the wire up through the console, then to the back of the hinges and then up to that top compartment where i mounted the thing using the supplied hardware.

So I ended up mounting the remote in one of those empty slots next the dimmer on the driver side.
I had initially hope to drill a small hole to fit the stem of the remote (with the casing off), then put the knob on after installing it.

Problem was, the other side of that panel as a lot going on and the remote wouldn't fit at all. So I had to do some cutting and sawing to make enough room for the remote.

Even still, it wouldn't fit all the way. So I ended up drilling a large hold through the face of that panel - to fit the knob. So instead of the entire knob being on the outside, I have the knob sitting about halfway into the panel. So, it's not as easy to grab and turn the knob but it'll do.

I mounted mine under the dash, next to your left knee when your driving.I can reach it and it is out of the way + it is easy to turn 2 screws. What do you think of the sound ? Personally i would rather have 2-10in or a 12in JL audio sub...but for now this (basslink) helps

I thought about mounting the remote somewhere else to save myself the trouble of taking the dash apart, etc. - especially since taking off the hood release latch is a pain in the rear. I thought about mounting it on the dash, even having it in the face of the stereo dash. Many possibilities, and it would have been fine.

But I guess I'm stubborn and really liked the idea of blending it into the existing control panel. I guess I'm a very aesthetic person. I do like the sound, though. I've had this woofer for a couple of years, took it from my last truck. I don't care to much for being heard down the street, so this woofer fills up the lows pretty well and keeps my bouncin' while I'm driving ;)

On a Jetta GLi that I owned years ago, I mounted the bass level control in place of the
cigarette lighter. The bass volume was then adjusted using the cigarette lighter
knob. Last I painted a bass cleff symbol on the face of the knob.

Does anyone really use that place near your left knee? Right near the door, almost under the vent vertically. It's blank and empty in my car, not sure about everyone's, but I'm not too sure if anyone has any upgrades in there already.
It's big enough to fit the remote too I believe.
