Difference between the interior lighting kit and the Blue lights in footwells

Ive got a 2010 Mazda 3 GT Sedan.. The car already has the blue lights in the footwells but I was talking to someone today and they showed me this:

What is the difference in this from the blue lights already in my Mazda? Would I still be able to install this and whats the benefit of this?

That kit just adds LEDs to the footwells (both sides) and a dial to control the brightness. If you have a dial on the dash behind the turn signal lever next to the AFS and TC/SC on-off buttons then you already have this kit.
