Battery?

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone running STF has changed the car battery to something lightweight. I know it is within the rules as long as the battery stays 12volts. Has anyone done this and if so what battery?

Edit 2: Ordered the above battery and will test it out. Will update this thread for anyone interested in shaving off 20-25 pounds.

Edit 3: Battery will start car no issues at all, Would highly recommend as it is a fairly simple mod!

good battery, but heavier than some others run. I have a 6lb battery i used in the 3 from my miata. not great but it's ok. I'd use that at national events. I just used my 40lb optima this past weekend at spring nationals. It was fine too. lol

Guy I used to race in STS2 (Miatas) used a motorcycle or lawn mower battery. Light as Hell, but had to use a jump box/battery booster to start the car.

Battery has been installed and used at three events, no issues with it at all. Would highly recommend this battery.

Thanks for the feedback, this looks like a good option for someone willing to trade some weight for more reliability. I noticed it's the same weight, but nearly double the CCA's of the Odyssey 680 and better price too.

Just want to confirm it does come with posts that screw in yes?
