Anyone experience motor mount problems?

I suspect my 2005 HB with 5 speed has a bad motor mount. Under hard acceleration(wheel spin) I can hear and feel a clunking/pounding sound that is very loud. I took it to a dealer and they told me it is normal. If so, then others would experience the same thing.

Anyone else?

I think you've got a different issue... it's not supposed to be so bad that you think your engine is about to end up pictured on a milk carton.

Pop the hood and have someone gun the engine a few times. If the problem happens all the time, do this only after the engine is warmed up. If the problem only happens when it's cold; then I guess you can do an itsy-bitsy extra wear and tear by testing this out on a recently fired up motor. Anyway, the engine should flex a bit, but if you see it bobbing all over the place .... yeah, that's not normal.

that same wheel hop, wheel spin, losing traction, then regaining it causing the motor to slam back is normal, well not normal compared to most cars, but thats what happens in this car, they wanted it to have very minimal, engine vibration, but we want to drive the car hard, and thats the con...stiffer motor mounts will solve that...

when i first got my 3, i tried dropping the clutch at about 4500 rpm to heat up the wheels and almost had a heart attack when i heard it, now ive learned to feather the clutch out and still heat them up, but i like dropping the clutch like i used to in my gsr...

Heat your tires? Why do you need to heat your tires?

ummm have u ever done a burnout?
have u ever pulled the ebrake up and burned out, hence heat up the tires, oh well maybe u never ran any car at a drag strip, and sat in the burn out box heating up the tires before pulling up to the tree...

heating the tires up is a loosly used figure of speech

your absolutely right rhigareda, heating street tires does degrade performance, but that doesnt mean its not done, for the smoke effect, lol

i was simply trying to get my point across about the motor mounts being to soft thats all..
