Ok I have been searching forever and I can't find what I need. All I want is a tint overlay for the 3rd brake light on a HATCH. I don't want to buy a whole can of night shades because I'm only doing that light. I already have overlays for the reflectors on the way. All I can find is overlays for the sedan. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I smoked mine with spray on model tint.
Ill go out and take a picture of it soon, its only lightly smoked though.

Sorry for cell phone pictures.
Its called Testors Tint spray and you can find it at any hobby store.

Oh and its just 5$ a can for the stuff, about the same price as a single overlay.

I used the same stuff about a year ago, and now you can hardly tell it's there. I'd invest in something better... the model spray is meant to be used *inside* of the model, not out. :(

if you dont want to spray it and put a film on it instead i might have enough tinted rockblocker left over. i'll look when i get home to see if its enough to cover the third brake light. thats exactly what i did with mine. looks way better than the stock milky white plastic. i always wonder why more people dont do this...

here's a pic. the reflection makes it look a little lighter than it is. its not totally blacked out. just smoked.

This is why I prefer the 04-05 hatch spoiler, it doesn't have an integrated 3rd brake light. The 3rd light is mounted inside the hatch glass instead. Just tinting the windows hides it nicely, and it still shines through when the brakes are pressed :)

EDIT: Like this...

Right on, yah that would make it easier. I did mine with the testors spray yesterday, put 3 coats of tint and 2 of clearcoat. It looks pretty good, this morning when it was cloudy I couldn't even see the brake light. Looks good when its lit up too. Well see how long it lasts. Ill post a pic this weekend.

i used sparay on tint. The can cost me like 26 bucks. Stupid things is expencive. I made my look really dark. At night you can even tell its there. I also did my side blickers, dark as hell also. lol. i think it really looks nice. Ill take a picture when i come home.

I think your best bet is spray on, because overlays tend to peal of with time

(sorry for spelling mistakes)

here's what the Testor's spray tint looks like on 3rd brake and side markers. also used a clear coat over the top.
