Low beams not working. HELP!

I have a 2004 M3. The low beams stopped working. Bulbs are fine, I changed the fuses and they still will not turn on. I have parking, fog and high beams, but no low beams.

I read in a previous post to try and change out the relays.

"Headlights Low/ High relay are in PJB.
Relay R23 for Low"

Can someone give me a little more direction. I'm not exactly sure what that means! I just need to know where on the car those are exactly!

Thanks!

I should have indicate more detail for this one...

Well,, if I was asked where is Headlight Low relay,, answer is it is in Passenger Junction Box (fuse/relay block) which is the block located under grove box where lots of fuses are inserted.

But the problem is that Relay #22 through #33 are BUILT INTO this fuse/relay block and headlight Low relay ( Relay #23) is one of these...
I don't think you can replace just headlight relay unless you know how to disassemble and know relay spec and where to get supply=if relay is out, you might have to replace PJB itself unfortunately.

You should bring your car to the dealer for diagnose to find where the exact problem is.

For now, set up external relay triggered by parking light to power headlight Low so at least you can have light for night time driving.

I just look up one of diagram I have (2006) and it showed that fog is link to headlight low relay. (headlight Low ON + fog swtich ON makes fog relay to be triggered)

Which mean,,if you have factory fog and fog is working, headlight low relay itself should be still alive i think..well my diagram is from 2006,, so no clear answer to 2004 model.

Hope you can fix problem soon.

Have you checked for power at the bulb wiring? Haven't looked at mine but the wiring could have came loose at the plug. Also check the bulb in its socket. It is grounded at the clip and if the clip is not positioned on the bulb right, no power will go through its regular path.

My Hyundai headlights had a nasty habit of blowing frequently, due to the weak wiring and the power going through the ignition switch. It is possible both bulbs are blown.

I agree I should probably take it to get a diagnosis. Not so easy with work right now!

How difficult is it to set up the external relay? Lights at night would help!

Thanks again for everyone's help. The filaments in the bulbs are just fine, they aren't blown.
