I already have a relatively bright LED where as my License plate is. Was just wondering what people would say in their opinion hands down is the brightest LED you can find to replace the License plate bulb with? My brother also has a Mazda3 and thought I'd have him try something different from what I have. If memory serves me right I think I got my LED from superlumination.

This is the 194 LED I currently have... I think.

i got for my license plate a 6 led lights and they are VERY bright and got them from ebay so far they are still good for having only paid 4 bucks for them 3 months ago, license plate lights can also be reffered to as t10 or t11

hey i was wondering about some thing..

i have a mazda 3 2004
i was wondering about buying a HID KIT but XENON HID kits have H7 would that fit as my normal beam?!?! <low beam> or no cuz iam really not sure if they will fit

lol i took the advice of some of you guys and went with a 6 LED bulb for map lights in my 2004 Mazda 3S, and it does not fit the hole socket as you cannot push it all the way through to turn clockwise and lock it in place.. seems like the middle part is too fat, or maybe its just the ones from autolumination.com

anyone have a better website to order LEDs from? and ones they acutally bought from and tested them to fit?

autolumination sucks, 5/7 bulbs are no good on first try

Does anyone know how to install LED's into the footwell area WITHOUT having to hack into the overhead lighting wires?

I am looking to have LED's light up when the doors open but it appears that requires cutting the wires in the overhead lighting area and running them down the pillar.

Can you have color bulbs on the license plate light or is it only white that's permitted?
- no -

A cop pulled me over for having a blue LED here in IL, stating that anything other than white is against the law. Blue/Green/Red/yellow all of these colors are used in Police and Emergency vehicles so tech. they could give you crap over it, so I would just stick to a bight lunar white.

What part of IL were you in? I commute from Joliet to the city almost constantly and was thinking of changing my license plate to a blue to match the interior lights I have...so I dont know if just suburb cops or even Chicago PD will pull you over for it...

How do you take out the bulbs for the lincense plate in sedan?

Is there any walkthrough? or a how-to with pictures?

Someone mentioned to slide it? Slide it which way?
OK, I dont have pictures but I'll try to describe it by word in detail....bare with me lol

First, feel around under the lip where the plates are located...there should be an openning where your hand can fit through...

It helps if your either sitting on the floor or dipping your head to get a better look (lol)

When you find it, you will notice that its a clear (or dirty) housing with two black clips that are holding on to the bumper...

With one hand or two (two hands work better if you can fit them) push the housing away from the bumper by placing your thumbs at the front of the housing to force it towards the inside (dont be afraid to use some force if the clips dont give but not to much to the point of breaking them)

It should "slide" away from the bumper, dont worry if you drop the housing on the inside, just grab the wires and pull it up...

Once the housing is out in the open, twist the rubber socket with the wires attached to it and pull it out...the bulb will be attached to the rubber socket, pull it out and replace with your desired light

**BEFORE** you put it back in, make sure to test it to see if the bulb works and fits within the housing...this will save you the hassel of having to redo everything if it doesnt work...simply put the new bulb in the socket and turn you lights on while its still hanging out.

If it works, simply put the rubber socket back into the housing, making sure to twist it back shut...then with the two black clips facing you, put the housing through the hole under the lip of the bumper.

There will be two spots where the clips go so you dont have to worry about putting it back in a wrong spot (again, helps if you looking directly under the lip so you can see exactly where to place it)

When you find where the clips go (should be a molded grove thats the same size as the clips (theres only two)), push the housing towards you so the clips lock into place into their respected slot and enjoy your new lights! :wiggle:

I noticed my dome light isnt shutting off completely. There is a faint blue light that seems to remain on. Has anyone else seen this with LEDs in the dome? I just replaced the dome with LEDs, at first it didnt work and I was about to give up but I tried again and it worked. Im about to do the license plate light now thanks to WindycityM3's how to.

My dome light LED was working great for the first few months, recently it started flickering all the time like a strobe light, now it doesn't come on at all. I took it out and made sure it was making the proper connections, but I can't get it working. :(

Your welcome :wiggle:, its becomes easier to do the more you take it apart and a word of advice, I dont know the DOT laws where you're located but where Im at the only legal light color for your plates is white, anything else is illegal, just in case you were planning on using a different color...I simply changed mine to a brighter white because I couldnt stand that yellow look from the stock bulbs..
