Hey All! Q about Tweeters in 3i

I have a pretty basic (but damn sharp looking :)) 3i with the four speaker setup.

The stock system downright stinks IMHO, so it will be leaving soon.

My question is: if I get a component speaker system for the front can I place the tweeter in what would be the location for the tweeter on the 6 speakers setup's on the nicer trims? Is there even such a place built in on my model? And if so, would there by chance be any wires leading to it?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been covered or if I don't make sense. I did a search but didn't come up with what I'm looking for

Yes you can. Don't know if you already have the holes but worse case scenario you can make them. You should replace the wiring anyway. Remember that with component speakers you need an amp to power them. If you don't want an amp and use the HU then you need coaxial speakers.

Yeah, I definitely would be using an amp. I think I might throw a 4 ch amp in that huge glove compartment...might overheat it though. Trunk is probably a better idea.

Anyhow, anyone have a good pic of where the tweeter is stock in their 6 speaker setup?

I thought I read a review of the 3 that said the Glove Box was already air conditioned (i.e. a vent spouts cool air when you turn your a/c on)?

that may have been a non-US review.

Hmmm, can anyone show me exactly where the tweeters are in the six speaker setup's?

I see VaBoom's guide but it's unclear to me where exactly they are so I can find out if I need to mod the door at all.

Thanks so far all!
