Used the info in this post today to have the climate control info displayed after replacing factory radio for a JVC single din unit. I have a 2004 Jap import Mazda 3 and used an 06 lcd display. Thanks for all the great info.

Hello guys!
Big thanks to seanlin08 for the great tutorial, I got my LCD work again. I have a 2004 Mazda 3 sedan, had the stock 2004 radio with info key and factory enabled trip computer. I swapped the head unit to Eonon GA8151, and since then the stock LCD was not working (as we all know). I had doubts if it will work properly, but purchased a 2007 LCD from a scrapyard, soldered and installed it based on seanlin08s tutorial, and it's working great. I have all the functions working, just like before. I have climate control, clock and all 4 modes of the trip computer. It even shows radio frequency, Bluetooth mode, DVD play time (this one is buggy, only loops from 0-9 sec, I think it's a head unit issue) etc. I can cycle through the trip computer and even set the clock by the steering wheel buttons. I didn't install 2007 radio for this, left the Eonon unit installed, just swapped the LCD, and everything works fine. FYI I have the red SS-02 CAN bus adapter. You can check by long pressing MODE button on the steering wheel, if you hear beep sound, you have the right CAN bus adapter. I hope this helps for others, who have doubts, like I had :wink2:
