04~05 MAZDA3 Change 06~09 LCD for trip computer

Hi all,

It's been asked above but is it possible to tap into original harness of 2005 M3 (as in OP) for 06+ LCD when using aftermarket HU? I've got chance to buy 06 LCD but have JVC double Din. I'm planning to buy LCD, tap into original harness as per instructions. Has anyone tried this and does the LCD functions work?
