I have a Blackberry 8830 from Sprint... I've had it for about 9 months now, but I really don't like paying 40 bucks a month just to get my work email on it. They won't pay for it and I'm just tired of paying. I would still like a smartphone so I can use Activesync to get my emails and such. I get unlimited internet from Sprint for 10 bucks (9 years of service), so I would save myself 30 bones a month. My account is in perfect standing, so the BB would be good to go. It has minor scratches from a few drops, but it is a tank and works flawlessly. I have the case, the usb and the charger for it too. If anyone has used a BB, then you know how reliable this thing is. It is my favorite phone ever, but the 40 bucks really bothers me. You can get the 30 plan that includes texting unlimited, but that plan doesn't include the Enterprise server for work email. So I pay 40, then 10 for texting because I am a retard.
I could go on Ebay and find one, then sell mine, but I am sick of Ebay and all the damn fees for everything. I am looking for a Moto Q9C/Samsung Ace... something like that.

I honestly just bought one of these 2 minutes ago on ebay to use instead of my sprint 700wx. I bought it at a price that i can make money on it if i dont like it so if i do like it like i think i will, would you want a 700wx? Way better than the qc9, its the top of the line as im sure you know.

Let me know and ill let you know.

You can get a 700wx for about $120-130 on ebay, and if youre buying then there are no fees of course, the fees are only for sellers.

Would you take cash for this bb in that price range?

You should really do some research on Sprint SERO plans too (sprint.com/sero). If you get an employee email address (which are all over the net) you can get a lot better discounts.

I switched from nextel to sprint and used [email protected] as the email and my $84 plan costs $35 lol. Look into it for sure, plus blackberry plans including the bb package are included with the sero so you dont have to pay for it on top of your monthly plan.

does the palm have activesync on it? our server doesn't work well with good mobile messaging, so I would need it to have the activesync on it.

i've used windows mobile 5 before... any slow or freezing screens?

Re-read the first post, it is now modified.

The treo uses activesync as its syncing program. Its right on the phone. Lets you sync hotmail, outlook, the usual.

You can even set the phone up to connect to your server for emails, i do believe that it uses GOOD messaging services, but there is a "terminal services client" that allows you to type in your server address and connect, so i would assume that you can just use whatever you want for messaging, i could be wrong since i dont use it.

I dont have problems with WM5, have to do a soft reset (pull battery out) once in a while. You can watch youtube, and download the vids right to the phone, and not to mention it has the all-mighty touch screen!

Its just like a mini computer.

let me go and play with the palms and see if i like them. i'll probably get there on sunday or late tomorrow (gotta help someone move). i have a 25% discount on my plan from when I used to work for one of their partners, but the rates on sero are nice. My obligation and lines are up in july, so i'll have to decide then what to do about the service. thanks for the info and I will definitely get back to you within the next day or so. DO you know the diff between the 755 and the 700? other than the OS I mean.
i might get 200 or so on Ebay, so 125 might work without having to mess with all the hassles.
I'll PM you.

The big difference between the 755p and 700wx is the OS of course which is why i got the wx, cause i dont like the palm os.

Thats the only difference that i can think of right now. It might have gps built into it but im not sure. I haven't seen a wifi card for the 755p yet either, but there are ones for about $40 on ebay that will let you use wireless internet to browse on your phone instead of sprint service which is cool.

And of course you can teather it to your computer to use the internet, think the 755p is a little lighter too.

Its all up to your preference i guess. IMO you can do a lot more with a phone that has windows on it, like i said its basically a mini computer.

Let me know what you think, and the sero plans are only for new customers, i totally forgot about that, unless you kiss their butt and ask for it exclaiming on the fact that you have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years. In my experience with sprint, if you ask for it a few times, they eventually give you what you ask for. Emailing them is the best way to get what you want.

I read some reviews on the 700 and 755... and it looks like the 700 has the more versatile OS, even though it is only WM5. I think the reason the phones I had were so slow in the OS was the onboard memory.
I'll try to get to the Sprint store to see them later on when this move is done with.

Check to see if you can use Blackberry Connect with the 700 on sprint's network. If you can just download it, install and your ready to go. It's made for certain WM5 devices and syncs non-blackberry devices with your company's BES server.

You just have to make sure that Sprint will allow the traffic across their network to blackberry.net for that particular device - if they do you are golden.

i can use the 700's Activesync to link to my server, but I like the idea of continuing the Enterprise server connection since it is flawless.

I haven't made it out to check out the Palm products, but I will tonight.
