so i had my speed dynoed stock with 3000 miles on it it got 231 hp 242 tq
well now 10000 miles latter and damn near every thing on the outside of the engine upgraded i put down 266 hp 311 tq
both dynoed same shop same dyno (dynojet) so WTF i see people with similar mods getting 290-310 hp so why is my car behind the power curve.
i have an ap and am runing stage 2 93 v103 map right now. it fells faster but you know real dynos are better than butt dyno.
so main question should i say F*C* the ap and go cp-e SB or is there still hope for the ap. and is that even the problem in this situation.
actually, a dyno is NOT better than a butt dyno, especially on this car. You cannot make full boost (especially on a dynojet) because there is little to no load on the car.
Also, the dyno can be affected by MANY things. Unless you are doing dyno's the same day after switching parts, don't put any stock in dyno's a month or 6 months later.
You need to look at the graphs from both runs. Lay one on top of the other to compair them. All you have told us is peak numbers, yes going from 242 to 311 lb/ft it's going to feel A LOT FASTER. HP happens at the top end where at what engine speed did the stock set up peak HP and where did the modded set up Peak? Is boost falling off early? is mixture going way off one way or the other?
Why the hell would you sell your ap when the tuning software is going to be released soon. I made 264 hp and 298 ft/lbs with the ms cai and ap 102 maps as my only mods. My car is a lot faster now on the 103 maps. Lets see your dyno.

I'm hoping it's soon. I e-mailed Christian asking when and he couldnt say, but the shop I told him I was looking to take it to (HBSpeed) would have it when available.
guys we all know that Cobb's OTS maps are always on the lower end of what is possible. Cobb has always offered a "safe" tune for the OTS maps. I know tons of suby guys who ditch their AP when they relaize this.
Pretty safe play by Cobb to offer safe OTS vs. aggressive given that anyone with the money and the ability to plug this in could think they are a tuner now. I'm VERY curious to see what a tuner shop can do with the AP and our MS3.
Those numbers Dread put down are nice given his mods. +1 for the AP.

It can make a ton of difference. My ex-friends Legasy gt was running around 13.2 with header, tbe, stock intake system including stock top mount, and custom cobb tune. it was a very sleeperesque car. cept for the exhaust
I need to get back to the dyno. I want to see how the 103 maps improved on this. I am betting my hp is quite a bit higher, since my a/f ratio is a lot steadier and I am holding a lot more boost in the upper rpm's. Plus where the car used to fall off above 5000 now it feels like a sling shot at high rpm's.
If Cobb has tuned the MS3 anything like the MS6's you'll find that the gains around where peak HP is developed are small ... I recall something about Christian playing it safe in that area as that's where stuff with the cams happens.
Here's a list of my avg gains from 2 stock runs to 2 Cobb runs. Look at the gains around 5500 - very small. It's not about peak, it's about average over the whole curve. To me, your gains looked great.

just when is the cobb software coming out and is it the end user programable or will i have to have a "certified" shop do it?

AccessTUNER Race is going to be for the end user.
I would not trust myself to "tune" my own car... so I'm just waiting for them to start shipping out the software to shops so I can get a professional tune.
sorry to say I think that is everybodies question. I bought my AP thinking the ATR software was weeks away, it's been over a month now. Everybody is saying/thinking soon though, couple weeks maybe.

He has a nano and fmic, so he should be running stage2+sf+fmic. But, he also has meth which may have played a part in the results. Didn't you put down 320whp with meth and AP aaron?
