Looking for a Nvidia 6600 GT PCIe video card. Preferably BFG Tech as I am looking for a second one so I can SLI my computer. Anyone have one laying around after upgrading to the new 7x series?

BFG is awesome IMO. I have a 6800 ultra OC. WHich I just happened to short out a couple weeks ago(dumb dumb mistake dont ask).
Anyway I called tech support got an RMA number and sent them the card. A week later ups drops off a brand new card. Life time warranty kicks ass.

Sry for the thread jack :p

Darn. Oh well. The hunt continues!

get one through ebay or through pricewatch.  if i were you'd just save up for a 7 series, since they're affordable now.  then use your older card as a secondary monitor card.

The 6600GTs are a bit slow, but i liked my Gainward VIVO (passively cooled) one.  I thought it started crapping out when I installed the latest drivers (at the time) and my video capture stopped working, so I had it shipped back and I got the 6800GS.  I can't record anything (none of the 6800GS out had VIVO) anymore, but got really good frame rates with FarCry and NFSU2.  I resorted to using a crappy MSI capture card which really sucks.  I had to pull back lots of visual options when I had the 6600GT to have it be playable, so you might be missing out on good graphics :)

Now I don't know what game to play besides NFS:MW :(

So think it might be better to buy 1 7x series card versus having 2x 6600GT? Which 7x card would be of comparable or better performance?

Well, since two 6600GTs would cost $220 you could use that as a guideline or go to NewEgg: (hurry!) Sale Ends 9/19/06
$292.99 a 7950GT - great card.

A single 6800GS can be faster than 6600GT in SLI.

I was possibly looking for a 7600GS as a possible mainstream upgrade later on, but looking at this...

Chip  Core Clock  Memory Clock Memory Interface Memory Transfer Rate Pixels per clock  DirectX
GeForce 7600 GS 400 MHz  800 MHz 128-bit 12.8 GB/s 12 9.0c
GeForce 6800 GS 425 MHz       1GHz 256-bit 32 GB/s    12 9.0c

and seeing this: http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=1856&cid=3&pg=8

My XFX 6800GS looks to be the better card as its clocked at 485mhz, and it also has GDDR3 compared to the 7600GS which has GDDR2.  Anything 7600GT and above according to your budget ;)  The 6800GS is $<200.
