S*it, the dealer told me it wouldn't take longer than several weeks to have it ready for me ... I hope he knew what he was talking about. I want to 'think it through' for another 2 weeks before I make my decision in terms of the colour, etc -- I think I'll go with lava orange, although I would prefer being able to see it first, it's hard to judge by brochure pics.Yes - and nobody was dealing on the 3 - too new and a list of people waiting for them. Not to say you won't be able to beat them down a little but don't count on it - good luck with your purchase. BTW, these are great little cars - what color / model are you looking at?
I drove a GS sport - getting the GT. It snowed like crazy that day and testing a car like this on slippery roads isn't the best idea :lol:Zoom34 said:Which model did you get to test drive and which one are you looking at?
Well I would hope they would let you test drive it - I've never heard of any dealership that wouldn't let you take the car for a drive. Gerry's told me to take it home for the night and bring it back the next day - and that's what is expected in todays market. Regardless, they are all pretty good and I was treated about the same at each location - you'll have guys come and tell a horror story about a particular dealer but you can't go by that.wizardH said:I went to Jim Gauthier's today and they were great - I was actually allowed to test drive the car, not just drive it![]()
Did anyone else get told that the mazda maker price from the mazda.ca website is similar to Access Toyota's pricing scheme, and that none of the dealers are supposed to discount from that? It sounded pretty rediculous to me. Anyway, I bought my 3 from Jim's and am now waiting for it to arrive.Black7 said:Yes - and nobody was dealing on the 3 - too new and a list of people waiting for them. Are you serious? My test drive lasted about 15 mins where we simply "went for a spin" and the salesperson kept telling me to slow down because it was slippery, etc, etc. Do you have to ask if you want to take the car home? I guess you do eh?Black7 said:Well I would hope they would let you test drive it - I've never heard of any dealership that wouldn't let you take the car for a drive. WizardH - it may have been unfair of me to post this the way I did. I'm in my 40's and I was with my wife - I am sure that had a LOT to do with it. Based on my experiences, I have always been offered this option including a Mercedes C230 Kompressor that I took out prior to Xmas for the whole weekend. Dealers are a nervous bunch and sometimes let their impressions of people get in the way of selling cars - I don't know how old you are but I assumed you might be a little younger based on your test drive experience. Next time you see a dealer, tell 'em you want it for the day at least - don't ask them, tell them. :wink:wizardH said:Are you serious? LOL, yes, you're right. I'm 26 but that's still too young to avoid being patronized by car dealers :?WizardH - it may have been unfair of me to post this the way I did.
