I will soon be buying my new Mazda3 and was wondering if the the wheels would fit my rims (which I believe they would with no problem) and more importantly if they would rub now or in the future.

The rims I am thinking about getting are 18x7.5" with an offset of +45mm. I have read the wheels/tires "will it fit" thread, and am a noobie with the references to "fender rolling". So an explanation of what it is and why it when be needed would be lovely.

In the thread it was posted that 18x7.5" wheels with an offset between +47 to +52 was the safe upgrade. My wheels have an offset of +45, would that be a problem? Something may have been mentioned about room for suspension?? Also would there be problems if I were to later lower my car?

The recommended tire sizes for an 18x7.5" wheel in the thread were 225/40/18, however the wheel said its recommend tire size was 215/45/18. Would the 225/40/18 tire still fit on the wheel?

I also read somewhere about how varying tire/wheel sizes protect your wheels from the evil curbs if an accident were to occur.... can someone explain in which cases that would occur? Would I be correct in assuming a wider tire for a certain wheel would be more "protective" than a narrower tire for that wheel?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or help, this was my first post to the site although I have been on it for the past 5 hours, lol!

17x7.5 with a +45 offset? Would I rub under any circumstance? I lie to corner pretty fast.

That will be fine, if you stick with 225/45/17 tires.
