Will 17"x7" with 42mm offset fit my sedan ?

I am concerned about the fender clearance...

Thanks.

According to the numbers, it will fit fine. Though it will stick out another 2.2mm over stock, which will barely be noticable.

How i figured it is: Stock offset is 52.5mm @ 6.5" width. Each inch equals 25.4mm. So an additional .5" width means 12.7mm. Since the .5" is positive offset, it has to go down the spectrum the other way. 52.5mm minus 12.7 equals 39.8mm.

Meaning if your wheel was 17x7" @ 39.8mm, it would fit like stock. But since your wheel is a 42mm offset, its pushes the wheel out another 2.2mm.

Not sure about your numbers vaBooM...

The .5" is not positive but rather divided in and out into 0.25" = 6.35mm.

6.35 + (52.5-42) = 16.85mm = 2/3 of an inch.

Means that the tire will be about 2/3 of an inch closer to the fender and will clear the shock an extra 1/6 of an inch.

My concern as about the tire being 2/3" closer to the fender, will it rub ?

Can it be bad for suspension or road handling or anything ?
