Who makes single CD player on 07 Speed3 Sport?

I always see the option for the Bose upgrade on the GT model, but I've never seen mention of who makes the one for my Speed3 Sport. It's a nice-sounding system, but it'd be nice to know who makes it.

How hard would it be to hook up a sub to it? Does the head unit have any line outs?

The non-Bose speakers are some OEM junk, I don't think there are any manufacturer's names on them.

The HU in newer 3's is made by Clarion; I know they switched manufacturers at some point (probably starting with the 06's); I don't remember who made the HU's for the 04's and 05's.

Your "can I hook up a sub" questions are easily answered by doing a search, but in a nutshell:

1. There are no line-outs on the factory HU.
2. To hook up a sub, you need either a line-out converter (LOC), or an amp that accepts speaker-level inputs. In either case, you'd be tapping into the speaker outs coming from the headunit.
Thanks for the quick reply.
04-06 radios were made by FMS actually. which is now a division Sanyo as FMS was a joint venture between Ford, Mazda and Sanyo. I believe 07 radios are made by Sanyo as well.

The stock speakers for 06 are not bad. they sound pretty good with CD's etc but the FM section of these radios leave a lot to be desired. Many people are shocked when the pull the stock 06 and newer speakers out of there doors as the magnet is so small. But these are Ndym magnets and are stronger then a alrge ceramic magnet. so even though they looks small. they are stronger then your average sized speaker magnet.

I added a set of Infinity 6812's to my car and they did not make that much difference. and as a guy the designs sound systems for a living thats saying a lot!

Frankly i am not a SH*T..errr i mean Bose fan. thats a four letter word in my book!
I have a t-shirt that says

No Bose-o's. serious audio guys know better!!

Interesting...the top of my 06 headunit says Clarion.
I took out my speed3 head unit and it says sanyo, so that is what it is. Sounds much better that the system in my 04 3.
