I am interested in racing my sedan 3. I have no experiance doing this, so I would like to start with any local races? My sedan only has a new intake. Other than that it is stock.

I just want to know where to start. I dont want to jump in the deep end and find I dont like it.

Any advice?

What do you want to do, 1st? Dragging, autocross? rally cross ?

In the dragging or autocross, you don;t need to be modded up. There are different classes where you as a driving can do well in.

Not dragging. Probably something like on streets or a track.

I honestly don't know much about autocross or rally cross...I know about timed rallies and I have done a few here in so cal. They are fun, but not really what i want.

NO! but that style...so on tarmac etc...not dirt...

so you want to more or less autocross. You just want to do it on a certain surface. goto the SCCA site and you can find alot of info there.

Thanks! I just looked at SCCA and they call it SOLO. So I will do some research on this and se ehow to get involved.

yea...they have SOLO SOLO2 and other classes. You have to be a member to get discounts and stuff, other wise, around here, it's like 45$ for a day of racing which uaslly gets you 3/4 runs

What is the difference between SOLO and SOLO2? Also, what is rally cross?

There is no Solo 2 anymore. Solo 2 became known as just Solo, and the original solo is now called Time Attack. Solo is typically done in a parking lot or airport runway, while Time Attack is done on race tracks.

Rallycross is just like autocross, but they do it on offroad type courses.

I just did SOLO for the first time this past sunday....SCCA event here in vegas. I had a blast...The car handled great except......blew the #3 motor mount on the 2nd to last run of the set. Sucks, but the part is being ordered ASAP so i can make the next event. I got hooked like it was crack.

if you mean the crack? REEEAALLL GOOD! LOL

but if you mean the mount? There was a loop de loop in the track....down shifted to 1st and and the engine shuttered really bad....it shook pretty much the whole front of the car. I opened the hood when i stopped and it had sprayed fluid everywhere....and then the belt started to smoke..lol. At first the fluid went all on the CV boot, so I thought I had killed the axle and such.

I highly recommend the autocross world. Just plan on going through some tires if you are going to push the car. If you have the money get a cheap set of light wheels and some good tires youll save yourself the trouble of balding tires

Would upgrading to the AWR motor mount help prevent it breaking? If so, are there full sets of motor mounts available or just the rear?

To my knowledge AWR makes only the rear mount....i broke the passenger side one...by the coolant and power steering.

But i am trying to get custom ones made.
