I'm going to be dropped on canuck motorsport springs soon, 1.75. I want no issues with any rubbing and was wondering if I could get away with 18x7 with maybe a +40 offset? What size rims would you recommend for my drop?
You may have a difficult time finding 18x7. Stock MS3 rims are 18x7 but most aftermarket rims are 18x7.5 or 18x8. You should look for an offset between 45 and 48. This will keep you centered nicely inside the wheel well. Tires should be 215/40 or 225/40.
There aren't many here on Canuk springs. You might want to search Sportlines (1.8 drop) and see what those on Sportlines are riding on.
The size of the wheel doesn't matter... 16, 17, 18, 19... it's the overall diameter of the wheel+tire combo which will determine if you rub. You'll be totally fine with 18" wheels on that drop, provided they have a high enough offset and you use tires which keep the OD as close to stock as possible (225/40/18 is the best).
