There is no way that the Gt25 will get you to 12s. You need to get a good set of drag wheels, good gripping drag slicks, good practice and a larger turbo with a proper tune. Our Protege runs low 12's with 337 WHP slicks, skinnies and a lot of practice.

For the others here debating about the front wheel drive cars, my 3 has been running consistent 11.3 and my friends 2.0 liter MZ3 has made 11.7 a couple of times. These cars are modified with head work, racing wheels (weld professional) M and H 25 x 8.5 x 15 extreme traction compound and rear skinnies. Open exhaust and 27 psi of boost on the 2.0 and 22 on the 2.3 liter.

We race our cars with all th weight except for the spare tire, jack and all the stuff we can remove from the car.

I was hoping go get your opinion since I know you've been spending some time at the strip. Jake talked to me on aim for a little bit before I helped my roommate out today. looks like I'm going to need a bigger turbo which is a bummer. But if I want to move into the big boy league, sacrifices must be made.

.......

man Juan that's a lot of stuff, how much of that stuff do you think is needed to get under 13? I want to take down my roommates evo.

oh and I pmed buddy club about the coils, so thanks oneill8769. Interestingly enough the evo just got lowered on buddy club coils.

yeah, i just pm'd them also!

Though it's VERY hard to plan for, we can try to setup a day at Fontana in June (only time avaiable) for their street legals and see how the cars do. Hard thing is Fontana doesn't do it often enough, and only allows 400 cars in, so you have to get to the track by like 5 am if you want to get in for sure (maybe not for sure during summer either)

i'd like to think i can get into high 12's (that's it) running high boost settings on my VF22...about 18-20psi. now that i have the lsd, should help my launches. i think my last launch in the car (60' time) was like 2.3 or something...with my atx. the speed6 guys are hitting 1.8's even 1.7's and that's hard to compete with.

i saw a post "what does it take to run 12's" under unread posts since last visit. So i clicked on it. And i didn't know in order to modify my car i had to know how much it weighs. I've spent over a year in a technical school for automotive, and another 6 months learning nothing but Mercedes-Benz. Not to mention growing up building cars... so i'm pretty sure i can find my way around my car just fine... but thanks for making an ass out of yourself.

excuse me? i'm not the one who jumped into a thread just to correct someone's example on a car's weight.... if there is one thing i DO know it's that you've master the art of hypocrisy.

as far as 1/4 mile goes... 1.7's and 1.8's are pretty close to impossible in a fwd setup like ours... assuming it's a ~12 second car. the ms6's have a ...small... launching advantage lol. a 1.7 60ft sure does feel nice though.

damn good 60's. Slicks sure make a world of difference.

how much do one of those foci weigh, anyways??? Those times are awesome for the power... im guessing they're pretty light. 2600lbs?

light weight wheels
baquet seats
cf hood

but there is all that extra weight under the hood.

in the video i saw that he had full interior, thats why i didnt go lower than 2400

not to nitpick but

1. their stock wheels are 15" so those drag wheels aren't too much lighter
2. the black one has stock rsx seats so not much difference in weight. the green one has stock seats
3. the black one doesn't have a cf hood. that's the reflection of a cloud.
