Tell me what you think: I now have the 2006 sedanS ATX, but after having it for over a year now I really need more trunk room. I'm thinking of going with the hatchback. Do you think I'm crazy to trade my 2006 in for a new hatchback......should I wait? Should I go ahead and get what I want for the storage? I've been so-so happy with my sedan.....have some issues with the reliability of Mazda, but I sure like the way it looks over other options out there right now. Please give me some feedback on this.....thanks!!!!!

You are going to lose some money on the trade but if you can, I say go for the Speed3. Get more room and loads more power. That's what I would do if I needed more room.

What issues have you had? I just bought an 07 sedan and I love it. The sedan has more room with the seats down but with them up the trunk is just about the same I think.

The hatch doesn't have much room with the seats up. It is very narrow..
If you don't need to use the rear seats then the hatch is a bonus. My old Corollla's trunk was much bigger than the 3 with the seats up.

It really depends on what you need the room for and how often. If you are talking about once every like 6 months - year for college dorm room moving, then just bring a friend or parent's vehicle in addition to yours ;-). If you need it at least once a week for work or personal things, then I'd say it would be worth trading in for. Remember, this is your decision, and you will get mixed results from people here. I personally would say stick with the 4-door; as long as you put the seats down in the back (they do fold down right? I just got my 3 sedan three weeks ago) and maybe even the passenger front seat, you can fit just about anything within reason.
