I may be way off here, but I think it stands for 'Worldwide Diagnostic System'. If so, I think that's the computer ford/mazda uses to pull codes, and change settings electronically. I don't think they're easy (or cheap) to get hold of, I believe it's basically a computer on a wheeled cart like this: (edit: I *think* that's the machine they use to remove the speed limiter too?)

thats it and they have pretty much been discountinued and replaced with a laptop system now i forget what its called but the wds is being phased out and wont be updated any more. as far as i know you cant get one and if you did there is a update atleast once a month and you would not get them. wds= around 8k ish i think cant remember for sure.
