I went to one of those pay vaccums at a gas station (75cents) and I had it going in my passanger door and just pulled it across to my driver's side. The big vaccum tube rubbing on the shift panel scratched the silver part to hell. I was so upset. I hope my warning makes others watch out.

Yes, when washing with a garden hose or vaccuming, be mindful of where the hose goes and of how it moves when you move it.

I love these idiots you see in the self spray wash dragging the hose across every surface of the car. Sad part is, they are usually the people with really nice cars. Oh well, you can't fix stupid!

Buy a shopvac, pays for itself in no time, and it does a better job than those car wash vaccums.

Definitely invest in a Shop Vac. Not very expensive and very handy in the garage.

It works like a charm...avoid the one gallon one horse power ones. They are ok...but I like the larger ones. FYI, the 6 gallon one like I have is the perfect size, I can easily carry it around and it goes nicely in a closet.

I've got the Craftsman 12 gallon, 5 or 6hp. Sounds big, but it's pretty low profile. Came with a few attachments. Easy to clean. Sears almost always has something on sale. I paid about $60. I would buy the biggest one you can justify owning, just to get as much power as possible. I've seen those really tiny ones, and they're a little wimpy. I accidentily picked up a pair of sunglasses with them (I was impressed) . I would really consider picking one up.
