hi everyone i resently saw a a metal thing called "vortex" that goes inside the throtle body and air intake, that makes air spin and it supposed to help air get inside the engine faster and give you more horse power...is that true is is it another one of those scams????

yeah it works. its like a turbocharger, its bad ass. + 50-80 hp. +20 more if you put the sticker on the car.

I got one and it worked great, the only problem is sometimes I had trouble controlling it from a stop because it was too fast.

oh for the love of God guys... don't screw with the new members- you never can tell if they have any automotive knowledge or not.

There are conflicting reports on inserts to create a vortex- some say it helps mileage, some say it helps power, others say it does nothing or even hurts. Spike TV's "Trucks" Stacey David tested one, and the dyno showed nothing for power.

Perhaps such a thing would work if it was installed further ahead of the throttle body to smooth airflow all the way in; but right before the TB dosn't seem like it could possibly do much of anything. Also, you have to consider- what beyond that point causes turbulence? Well, the throttle body itself can! Butterfly valves will cause turbulence.

My opinion? Waste of money. Now, drop the X and change it to CH and you may be on to something..... (Vortech is a super-charger company if you don't know)

I shoot a system X Vengeance X- it's a cocker clone. Got an ANS ram on it and run a PMI Bulldog 2 65/4500. Got an Evil Pipe Kit and it shoots darts. I've been playing about eight and a half or nine years now. Played competitively for a short time on team Headrush / Bad Influence - we just played local tourneys though, nothing real big.

Vikz, just as an FYI, anything that says it provides incredible horse power for little money will not work. Stick with the usual stuff starting with intake and exhaust...

I've had blood brought on more than one occasion from paintball... and i've seen as many injuries as pro football it seems. lol. broken wrists, ankles, legs- check. shot it the nuts? yup. so tired you can't hardly walk the next day? oh yea. Biggest smile i can have next to driving fast (to the paintball field)

Think about it - it will constrict the airflow. Does that sound like it will increase your hp?
