Sup man. If mine is getting built the 3rd week in march...how long does it take from getting built to on a ship and over here?
[/quote]

35 days average. If they stick to the schedule yours will be arriving May week 1...
I say you pick your car up... let's see.... Saturday May 12th.

Re: EAST COAST: MID-FEB BOAT & EARLY MARCH VESSEL

Ok I'll sneak this post in.
Joan has finally confirmed that RIGHT NOW there's a vessel with Mazdas in the port of New York that's has finished unloading her cargo and will be moving out this afternoon. Her name?

The COSMOS ACE. And she's half blue too! :)
BTW she called Jacksonville Monday morning.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The NEXT boat up is the HYUNDAI #206
The Hyundai will be arriving with brand new Mazdas inside; she'll call Jacksonville around 03/01 and NY around 03/06. These ETA are subject to change.
The only picture I could find is this one:

HOW ABOUT THAT? Now I got y'all 2 WEEKS ahead of schedule!!! :) :)

Leofaye, I ordered a Black Gt Speed 3rd week of January... was told to expect it in 3+ months. But Friday, the dealer called me and said that the Southeastern Rep was in for a meeting and they got him to "divert" a black GT Spd scheduled to go to some other dealership, to our dealership... in affect, for me. He said the car was offshore on a boat and I could see the car in 30 days +/-. He had no Vin. He said Tues/Wed he would have a VIN and more info then... but it was definitely coming to me. He said it has compass mirror, no nav, scuff plates?, satin filler cap?, floor matts... that's all I remember. New here, not sure if you can or are able to tell me anything more. Appreciate any info, Thx -need

Yeah I can help you out. When you get the VIN shoot it this way. or at least the last 8 digits.

I just put a deposit down about 30-mins ago for a MS3. Non-refundable deposit, so I'm pretty much commited to the order. :? I was quoted about 10-12 weeks for it's arrival. So I guess that puts me on the mid-march build schedule. This is the first car that I have 'factory' ordered...so my question is when should I expect the VIN number to become available (pre-build invoice, during production, when it rolls out the factory, put into the boat, etc)? Also, is the only point of contact go obtain the VIN the salesman/sales manager or is there also a way outside of the dealership to get the info, say using my name and the name of the dealership placing the order?

HELLO! GLAD YOU TOOK THE BIG STEP!
My dealer gave me the VIN# the day before it was to get built.
If you can get your dealer's order number you can call the Great Suzanne and ask her for status too, but beware... don't abuse of her kindness :)
I believe your car will be arriving Jacksonvile, FL around 04/20. MARK MY WORDS

Heh. Thanks. It was surely a big step. Sunlight Silver GT, no other options. I negotiated roughly $400 under MSRP and will be trading in my little brother's Protege5. He will then inherit my Mz3 when the MS arrives.

I've been debating the purchase for the past 2 weeks, basically bookkeeping and 'counting pennies' (not literally, but close) seeing if I could pull it off w/o significantly affecting the Master Plan. I've got two accts at the bank, one earmarked for new home downpayment and the other for a new car purchase, both accounts pretty much grow linearly and are locked away in 6-month CD's. Luckily the car purchase CD matures around mid-March. Currently, I'm $2-3k short in the car fund of what I need to purchase the MS3...but with the estimated early May delivery (or should I say confirmed by leofaye ;) ), I should have plenty of time to save up that and drive the car off the lot w/o borrowing a penny.

Thanks again leofaye.

I love this stuff. You said once you might be able to reverse track my car if I sent you the last 8 of my VIN. PM sent.

Interesting. Your car was picked up by the trucker from COTTAGE GROVE, MN on 01/07/07
They dispatched it to the dealer on 01/10/07 and delivered the same day.

This means that your car was railed to MN from MOST POSSIBLY NEW YORK
Your car arrived to NY before mine did.. unfortunately I didn't start keeping a record of vessels until my car came in on the BRAVERY ACE, 01/06/07
I doubt yours was on that one, chances are it was the one before.

Oh and another thing I wanted to ask but forgot....the dealership mentioned that they are only allocated 4-5 MS3 per year and that April/May would be the last months to order the MS3 and get it built for the '07 production run. I put down the deposit for their last allotment. Is that last ordering timeframe correct, and are they doing another production run in say June/July?
