Ok, so I get into my car today and most of my Sirius radio preset stations are "gone". Apparently I can tune any station I want, but the radio will now only save stations over number 120.
If I try to save a station under the number 120, the radio says "invalid..." Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. p.s. I tried disconnecting the battery for about 15 seconds... didn't work :(

I had a strange issue like that a few days ago- I could set any presets I want except on buttons 2 and 5, on any of the 3 banks. Called Sirius, went through their tech support, they said it was a known issue. Go to the fuse panel under the hood and pull the ROOM fuse for about 5-10 minutes (I left mine out while I had lunch at a nice little pizzarria). Pop it back in and you'll be good to go.

Apparently this is a known issue, and Sirius told me that if I was uncomfortable with it, I should be able to take it to any dealer or almost any other shop and have it done. I had no issues.

There is a fuse puller and diagram inside the lid of the fuse box, as well as a diagram in the owners manual. On my car I think it was fuse 31, a 15 amp fuse in the front passenger side corner of the box, YYMV.

I got a letter from mazda warning me of this issue and it had the directions for reseting it, like mentioned above. It was due to a firmware upgrade.

I have the same problem, and the tech support at Sirius didn't tell me anything about pulling the fuse under the hood. He rebooted my signal a few times, and told me it must be a problem with the radio itself, so I should take it to the dealer.
When I did that, I was told by them that it's a known problem, that requires an update to the module. Unfortunately, it's a recent problem, and their equipment to update my module is in shipment.
I'm glad you gave the fix, abbarach.
Thanks.

No problem. Apparently Sirius has it flagged in their system now- as soon as I gave the tech support guy the ESN he asked if it was a Mazda radio, and immediately knew what to do.

I'm going to have to check with my dealer next time I'm in town- I suspect there probably is a flash to the Sirius module to fix the problem, and that pulling the fuse may only reset the thing and not keep it from recurring. On the other hand it happened to me about 400 miles from my home dealership, and since it dropped presets 2 and 5 it effectively kept me from using the channel change buttons on the steering wheel. I never knew how addicted to those things I would become...

I have no presets but it will not remember the last channel I was on. It always go back to some crappy (to me) rap/pop station when I start back up. Just started this a few weeks ago.

My service guy said there is a TSB on this and requires a reflash and possible firewire correction.

It is very irratating to have to change it back each time. I may try the fuse removal trick until I can get back in to service.

I've had no problems once I did the reset. I think all you need to do is the fuse reset and you should be fine.

Just wanted to chime in and say that removing the ROOM fuse for a little while and replacing it worked for me. I've only had Sirius installed in my car for a couple weeks and noticed this problem - after a long session of it saying UPDATING (just out of the blue one afternoon after starting the car), I started having the same issue.
