Just did the brakes on my 2016 Mazda 3,m after noticing a grinding sound on front driver side brake (during braking and immediate acceleration)

replaced rotors/pads and hardware. No longer grinding when accelerating but still making sound when braking

Without a video recording the sound and even than it may be difficult to identify the noise you need to do or have done by a shop a complete visual inspection of ALL toy steering, suspension and brake parts. All look carefully for any damage to the chassis from impact like those cement parking stops or sidewalk curbs.

I would suspect that you may have a bad caliper on that side. Of course you should do other investigations like the inspection mentioned above. Put the car on jack stands and spin the front tires, look for wobble, listen for rubbing/grinding, etc. Fortunately a replacement caliper if that's what you need is not terribly expensive, and not that difficult to change.
