That photo does look a little photoshoped, but I don't think Mazda would do something like that; I'd be false advertising or something like that. Can anybody who has a 3 in Mexico confirm that the manual A/C has this displayed on the screen?

Even MazdaUSA kinda has this. The control center is broken up into 2 pictures, but they are right after each other and appear from the same vehicle. One show the LCD display with A/C displayed and then right after that it shows manual A/C. hmmm....

This can be done.

In theory....

LCD - LCD has bunch of pins which control what part of the LCD lights up.

A/C Control - Just attach some metal connectors on the A/C control so that when a vent position or fan speed is selected, it would make connection. Connect that to the LCD pins then you're done. '

Can probably do this myself if I can get a hold of a LCD and a A/C control panel. But you can go ahead and try...

It's photoshopped for sure... to some degree.

It's done by graphic designers who want to make the car look good... Not mazda master technicians who wish to insure congruency.

You can tell by the contrast, lighting, etc..

The information on the LCD and the location of the knobs and common sense indicates it might not work.

The A/C LCD display is for those who have Climate Control...I can see the images on my LCD when the sun or light hits the LCD just right...so I don't think there is a way to "unlock" the info...but I could be wrong...hopefully I am...

I agree, definitely a doctored photo. If you zoom in close it looks like the fan setting on the LCD is set at 3 while the knob is on 2. And if I'm not mistaken the auto climate control has like 6 fan settings, while the knob can only go up to 4. The other clue is that the temp control knob is set right at the middle, which should correspond with a temp setting of 75 degrees, while the LCD shows 69.

anyone else notice that its almost the exact same picture in the exact same car but the mexico one has a fake kinda looking ipod in it???

I dont think there is a way to make the screen show any relevent info...though if we could get it to read inside them that would be awesome!!

Heh, I'm going to try calling a dealership when I'm bored and bring up a scenario like:

"Hi, I disconnected the battery to change my head lamps and when I plugged it back in, my climate control LCD icons disapeared. The last time I disconnected the battery I lost my fuel computer option. One of the techs there, not sure if it was you, told me a button combination to enable it again so I was wondering if there's the same for the climate icons".

The fuel computer I doubt is a hack, just a key combo to enable it so hopefully it shouldn't be some top secret codes.
