My 09 MS3 turbo is GONE (dp/rp issue, long story).

I have about $3k to play with.

Obiosly I would like to replace the turbo, but dont want to make this a snow ball project. turbo and turbo inlet is what i'm thinking about, maybe some suspention with the extra peso...

Dont want go to front mount intercooler, fuel pump and then this and that because of the new turbo, etc, etc. But will like a bigger/nicer turbo?

Let me know what you have in mind, Thanks again.

Michel.

what are you power goals in the end? i would say 2871 if you dont plan on building and want to be able to hold power to redline

+1 be careful in upgrading the turbo, its easy to blow your engine without the proper tune and upgraded internals.

Well the OP clearly states that he/she wants to stop at a turbo and inlet, in which it isn't that simple and it's more work if you want to get the real benefits of a bigger turbo like the 2871R. If you want to keep it simple just stick with the stock turbo.

def get a SST. I wouldn't spend the money on another shitty quality stock one. Yes, the SST is basically the same thing but at least you know you're getting better quality seals.

since you want the least trouble involved, i DEFINITELY vote for a used stock turbo. even the reworked turbos won't run 100% right without adjustments in the tune, so i would stay away from anything that isn't 100% stock. get it used, because it's not worth full price for a new one...=/

Does anybody know the A/R of the 2871 turbo housing. Is it close the the original garrett housing?

Mazda voided my warranty, I discussing options with a lawyer, read page 30 of your warranty booklet.
It was my mistake for taken the car without the catverter to the dealer. But to void the entire warranty for a known problem thats a bit much, specially since this is my 3rd mazda in 3 years.
