Does anyone have A "True" List of what mazda does for there 30000 mile check up?
I mean do they clean injectors test fuel pressure ...stuff like that.
Or is it more like ...check basic fluids...ok where done..???
My dealership wants 450 for my 30000 mile check up and I have 33000 on the car now.
And also...lets say if I don't do my 30000 mile check up at the dealership...if something goes wrong...lets say 45000 miles. Is my warranty void just due to the fact that I never came in for my 30000 mile warranty??????

the manual says to lube all hinges, to inspect the air filter, brakes, ATX fluid (replace if necessary), change the oil and filter, and thats about it.

What do they do for $450?

Ask your dealership for the list. If they can't produce an "official" Mazda recommended one then I smell ripoff.
If they are able to provide you with their list or any list, then you can take it to an independent shop & get it worked on for 1/2 off @ least.

& No, your warranty isn't voided unless they can show you have neglected basic maintenance. Cleaning injector isn't basic maintenance. Ppl have clogged injectors from the carbon buildup in as little as 3k miles. You think that will void their warranty?

This is a mazda not a maserati.

Yeah well I'm trying to find out..just becaues this friday I plan to do my own...30000 mile check up.
So I called them about an hour ago...and really it's just fluid and tire rotation.

Oil change
Trans fluid
coolant
PVC valve
Tire rotation
Brake check
Plug check
air filter
lube all hinges
And thats about it.
some what thats about 150 for the parts if I went out and bought them. Better then 450!!!..all pretty basic stuff....I was just making sure I wasn't missing anything that I couldn't do....and save my 450 bucks.
I think I'll save my 450 dollars for new tires

I work with senior technicians at dealerships. It's going to depend on the technician you get as to whether or not they will do EVERYTHING, though they're supposed to. :)

Lubing hinges is done with silicone lube spray.

I think that if you get your car serviced, try to make it seem like they are being audited with your car and they will do a great job if they suspect it's an audit. :)

I'd PURPOSELY make a hinge squeaky, and mark my filters with an obvious mark or something... lol

Then make a couple areas where the circle inspection will fail... lol

Drop a couple fluid levels below min with a turkey baster...

There are numerous threads here pertaining to 30k maint.
I noticed that you are in VA, which Dealership quoted this to you?

Well I live in fredericksburg, I bought the car with 3 miles on it in pearson mazda in richmond.
So I called pearson first the said it would be about 440-460 after tax.
So I called Bill britt...and same estimate....
I called a mazda dealer in up north just to see how much it would be they said $475.
I never went to that one and can't remmber where it was...I think alexendria somewhere.
I just wanted to compare.......
But I must say I trust both Bill brit and pearson dealerships....the guys in richmond have done work on my car and I'm always in and out..no B.S and there pretty straight forward...never had an issue with them.
I handed them a TSB on my Power window once and they said...no keep that we have a copy in the back...we'll fix it.
And as far as bill brit goes....they rock too. I trust them just as much..if not more.
I have been buying my parts from bill brit for about 5-6 years now (use to have a 94 626)
Never had my car worked on there...but there parts guys are nice, straight forward and honest.
Both great dealerships.......Don't want to say anything bad about them. Becaues I haven't really had any bad happen at eithier one. I guess thats just the price mazda tells them to charge.
But just the fact "450 Dollars" I don't have that cash right now....
and besides I preffer to take a couple hours for doing my own maintance.....I have days called.....Mazda love day ..and I sneak away from my girlfriend...and spend all day with the mazda.!!! I just think I would show more love for my car instead of someone who doesn't own it. :klavergreg:
