Re: The "Will This Fit??" Thread

i'm looking at getting some new wheels,

i'm thinking either 18x8.5 or 18x9.5, which offset would you suggest, the choices are :15, 30, 38, 45. i am also lowered on some eibach sportlines

^^Of those you listed, only 45 will work. You'll have to roll your fenders with that wide a rim and drop too. Lot's of rubbing possibilities if you go with 9.5. Imo, a rim that wide on our cars is silly.

also, will my 205/50/17w yokos fit on these? I just got those tires a couple months ago so Id really like to keep em

They will fit fine and perform great, it will just look quite a bit stretched. Tire Rack lists the wheel width specs for most Yoko 205/50/17 tires as: 5.5-7.5", 6.5" measured. A 225/45/17 would be the best replacement tire for those wheels when the time comes due.

Well, I'm pretty sure the stock MS3 tires are actually 215/45/18... but yes that should be fine even with a drop of 1.5". With a 2" drop you might be pushing it and rub the inner fender liner plastic in rare situations.

Does anyone know the hub bore of TSW Trackstar 5? It is 18 x 8 and has a 45mm offset but if you look at discountiredirect.com it never shows in the wheels that fit. I also know that people have put this on their MZ3.

Can you do a writeup or explain how to roll the fenders on a mazda3? From what I've heard, if you mess up, you risk cracking the paint on the fender...

With that much drop, Yes, you will rub with the stock tires, 215/45/18. (on the top of plastic splash guard inside the fender well)

With that much drop you will still rub on occasion with 225/40/18. On big "g-outs", and mid corner bumps. Same spot on the top of the inner fender liner.

215/40/18 would have no chance of rubbing.

Plenty of write ups on Google about fender rolling. Paint cracking depends on how well you heat up your fenders with the heat gun... I would choose a warmer day and a heat gun (instead of blow dryer). Take your time when you do it... rushing will just result in paint cracking.

<--- was messing around the other day with the wheels on his Maxima.

They work, but the style doesn't.

9.5's with a +40 offset in the rear. Not (fully) driveable without a fender roll/pull though. The 3 is stock height, as well.

I should have taken a picture.
