For how long and how much rain would it take to build mildew? Carpet has been wet for 3 days.
I was just going to use towels and a heater to dry w/o taking the carpet up. Anyone have past experience?

is it worth $200 to for a dude to take out the two seats, lift the carpet, take the padding out (if its soaked) to dry it? Trying to save myself a buck to do it myself.w/o taking the padding out.
Thanks for any advice.

if i were you, i will get one of those carpet steam vacuum you rent from home depot. it has the attachment hose and hand thingy to steam vac the seats. that way you vacuum dry the carpet and shampoo it at the same time. while you're at it vac the seats too. and if you mix some low sud laundry detergent on it too, the car will smell nice.
2 of our past cars had sunroof and has been left open in the rain on occasions. the steam vac takes care of it and the beds and carpet inside the house too. you will definitely get your money's worth, bout $35 if i remember right.
