Have them wrapped in plastic, and stack on sidewall.

Yeah, there isnt anything wrong with stacking tires with wheels on the sidewall. Just make sure it doesnt sit on bare concrete/asphalt.

What about temperature at which they are stored? Does it matter? Thinking about storing mine in the shed in the bone snapping -30C were having...

Make sure you soak them in water and beer first too....

It really has no effect, but the beer is yummy.... The tires seem to like it too.

Actually, the professor is half right. After you store the wheels, soak in a hot tub and enjoy a beer.
