^^^

The way I look at it is even if that dyno is high, those gains are very real. 25 HP and 32 TQ is a damn good gain from the CAI/CBE combo. Right in line with what Mazda claimed.

Wanted to add another data point )7 MS 3 sport - bone stock, 9 k miles. I got 224 whp and 245 ftlbs tq. AF was smooth starting at 12.0 at 3k rpm, dropping to 11.5 by 5 k rpm then moving up to 12.0 at 6.5 k rpm. This was on a Dynocom dyno which reads significantly lower than dynojet. I bought the car yesterday and dynoed it today

Here is my dyno after installing my CP-E CAI. The stock run was at 55 degrees, raining, no fan. Mod run was about 80 degrees, 30% humidity, with a fan in front of the car. I am at about 4800 feet elevation. I picked up 15 hp and 18 tq from my stock dyno. Stock was 192 hp and 226 tq. Car definitely feels stronger and sounds waaay cooler.

Drivetrain loss:

FWD is typically 10-15%
RWD is typically 18-25%
AWD is typically 20-30%

i dynoed 227hp and 260 tq. based on drivetrain loss % that's about right considering heatsoak/ambient temp, fan here or there etc. some folks that posted don't seem to have any drivetrain loss at all  i should get ms cai, maybe i can gain 50hp and 50 lbs of tq. if numbers are too good to be true then something is wrong with the dyno.

Cobb Intake before and after dyno. Conditions from original baseline(Dyno run # 3) the same as today’s.

Dyno run # 3: Stock baseline. Fan on radiator
Dyno run # 4: COBB Short Ram Intake ($175) installed. Fan on radiator.
Dyno run # 6: Fan on top mount intercooler.

Hood down with a bloody BIG fan at the front of the car will work best and be the closest to "real world" running.
Only other way is to have a fan pointed straight down from above the IC to hit it with cool air. Pointing a fan from the front with the hood up blows air across the IC and is next to useless when it comes to pulling heat out.

Cheers!

I did exactly that today and ran a 25 mph shop fan to the upper and lower grill. 246 whp / 290 wtq baseline, 274 / 308 with a MSCAI (dynapack).

28hp from a CAI...wow...that means the factory airbox design is pretty much garbage or designed primarily for noise reduction...

Hopefully the MSCAI is available if I pickup a speed3.

Do you have the breakdown of how much power you picked up at 6,000 rpm? That would be good to see if you got a little more usable power up to the 6000rpm area. The power falls off so fast a 15 or 20hp improvement at 6k would be nice.
