Stock airbox compatible with aftermarket inlets?

I was just wondering if anybody knows which, if any, inlets would work with the stock airbox?

(Cobb, CP-E, HTP, RPMC)

why? The only reason i can guess is for stealership visits.
Just to try it. I think it would be pretty efficient.

*AEM has a intake for the Evo X that looks very stock and replaces their factory inlet, I like the way it looked so stock but they were able to get 16whp from it. I'm sure their airbox is also a big part of that, but I like the idea of it. (if that makes any sense?)
***Cough Cough*** stealth for State of Ref ***Cough Cough***

 I didnt think about that, but ya. I don't think even if they knew it was there they would care. Local State Ref told me aftermarket FMIC are perfectly legal to run, as long as all emissions equipment is in place still... "Stock/CARB legal intake".
all inlets should work with the stock airbox...no problem

an intake is a great mod though...i'm surprised you haven't upgraded to an aftermarket?

I already have the MS CAI... I bought it a couple weeks after I got my car. I've had my MS3 for a year as of today.

I just don't think my car likes the MS CAI much.

do you have an air straightener? if not, i heard it makes a big difference esp with knock and fuel trims

or maybe switch to cobb sri or cp-e sri? both are great and have air straighteners...the turbo sucking noise is louder with the sri too...hehe
well I removed and reinstalled my MS CAI, to realign/check everything, and the STFT/LTFT seem to be doing a little better.

I still like the idea of a stock airbox with a inlet... but looking at my stock airbox today I could see why it's so restrictive.
Sell your CAI and get a Cobb SRI, I love mine, easy to clean and maintain and its very efficient.
