I was just looking throught a workshop manual about the mazda 3...
I was just wondering what purpose the stiffners serve?
The Gold plates that are at the top of each strut in the front of the car..
Any real purpose? Just thought I'd ask
likely just strength for the area. When building a rollcage you don't weld the bars directly to body metal, you always add an auxillary metal plate to the area, which you in turn attach the bar too. My guess is that it's the same principle.
