So I'm planning on downsizing my next (MS3) tires to 225/40 and after reading around, it seems that the speedometer will read a bit quicker than it should be. The issue I have with this I suppose is artificially increasing my overall mileage. Is there a way to get around this like flashing the ecu to compensate or such?

When your speedo reads 60, you'll actually be going 58.8. Many here run 225/40 when then change out their tires and have no problems. As it's gearing, there is no way around it outside of running the stock overall diameter.

Read the same way, I haven't heard of anyone changing it.

no...it's only 2 miles over for every 100 miles. it actually works better for you as far as warranty goes because it gives you an extra 1000 miles. hahaha

I'm with you - I'd rather have an accurate setup, though I haven't looked into recalibrating the ECU.

I am, however, looking at doing so when I consider 235/40/R18's, but there's suspension and body work req'd first to fit them.
