Our Speed 3 is making a horrible noise all the time now. We just bought the car on Thursday last week. We originally started hearing it when he would let the clutch out but now I guess it is doing it all the time. When accelerating and all.

Time to do some locating. Sounds like something simple. Any tech can source it.

That is a negative dear. Have not seen that one mentioned in the forums. Keep us posted?

Wow, did I correctly diagnose that from all the way over here? At least if that is the issue it's an easy fix and it won't hurt anything else.
Oh, not to jack your own thread, but was on your website and couldn't find a price on the MS3 springs. Do you have any in stock? Hit me up at [email protected] with a price if you do. (Including shipping to 11776). Thanks!

I'd hope its not the throw out bearing yet. Plus those don't tend to whine. Sounds like a wheel bearing or axle, or a gear whine from the LSD.

any bearing can whine

Do you get noise:

A) Car not moving, clutch in.
B) Car not moving, clutch out in neutral.
C) Only when the car is moving.
D) Whenever the engine is running, it doesn't matter if the car is moving or not.

C) I guess only when he is using the pedals and moving.....

I told him to test your theory. To push clutch and such in while not moving....reving engine and such too. He will try that on the way home maybe.

Thanks

I am just super frustrated...we should have just kept our toyota if things like this keep happening. :x :x :x

This sounds like a quick fix when you take it back to the dealer to get resolved. This is the first any of us have heard of this problem. I don't think once it gets resolved you will miss the Toyota any more...

I agree. He loves the car. I do too. Out of 26 cars we have owned in the 11 years we have been together this is the 1st time we owned a Mazda and the 1st time we are having an issue with a brand new car. :x :x :x :x :x

Just wanna throw it out there, but check the front brakes. A lot of us, myself included, had the dragging pads noise for the first few hundred miles. THere's a ton of post on here about the "hum" or "squeel" from one of the front wheels. I'd be willing to bet that's what you're hearing. To save you some post searching, it most notably occurs with warmed up brakes, at low speeds, or just off a stop light, or pulling into a parking space, clutch in or out, and is temporarilly relieved by touching the brake pedal or jerking the steering wheel in one direction or the other. Mine pretty much went away on it's own.

Well you guys are one in a million. Things happen to brand new cars all the time regardless of make. When I browsed over the WRX problems section during my research I was like 'feet don't fail me now!!'. However I went from forum to forum only to see people complaining about one issue or another.

I think it's wise to know exactly what the problem is first before assuming the worst. It could be something very simple. Good luck.

+1.
What I don't get is, why don't you give the dealer a chance to have a look at it first? Heck, don't you work for one?
