Special Service Tool for brake pad change?

you can get the brake caliper tool from harbor freight for cheaper probably. . .

and it will also work with a bunch of other cars

alternatively, you can use a lot of sweat, cursing, and a pair of needlenose pliers supposedly, although I couldn't get it to work. The idea is you have to press and turn at the same time.

what about the front? can you get away with just a C-Clamp?

yes you can. but from what i understand, you pretty much have to be a beast to do the rear without the tool. i dont think anyone has ever done it without the tool

Okay blammy so what's the plan? Do we have this tool or do we hope that the shop has this tool?

for those wondering, with 2 people, the pliers method is NOT that bad. Jack and I did the rears in about 30-45 minutes with pliers.

Also, when having a normal sized Asian guy holding the caliper and an extremely large Dutch guy doing the grunt work, make sure the normal sized Asian guy is well supported and braced otherwise the large Dutch guy will slide him along the ground
