Ok so the following photos were taken with the very slow kit lens that came with my xt. There is a bit of sensor dust noticeable in a few of the photos. They are not sharp by any stretch of the word but i can thank my "really" good lens for that. The blur that the lens created does look kind of cool though, so now i will stop talking and you can see them! C&C is welcome.

far from easy to master.

i have to try some of these with my new camera. sometimes it's luck sometimes it's skill to get these shots.

looks like you did a decent job.

I would crop them a little though.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I am planning to crop them but was to lazy to get to that tonight.

lots of tips and C&C if you want it. great forum. I have learned lots from it. I just need to get out and shoot some pics now.

Already a member, but have never posted anything because, well my photos aren’t exactly great yet, so im just lerking, taking notes and applying, until i get a somewhat decent photo. i got some better pans the day before of random cars, but i guess i was just to excited to be shooting my car that i didn’t exactly sweep very well, i think that is what created so much unwanted blur in the photos.

XTi, battery grip, 18-55mkII (kit), 50mm F1.4 USM, Sigma 70-300 APO DG, speedlites 430EX & 177A(old!!!)
looking at a manfrotto tripod at the moment...and a 24-70mm F2.8L USM....and then maybe a 10-22mm...and lastly a 70-200mm F2.8 IS...thats if I don't buy a 2nd body.....also looking at a 580EX...I don't know where Im going to find all this money....lol

That’s a good list of lens ect. The 24-70mm F2.8L is awesome im jealous, and just like everyone else i would love a 70-200mm F2.8 IS but as a college student funds do not come easy. The xt is not my first slr but it is my first dslr. You have more than i do, all i have is the kit lens, a decent tripod and the usual lens filters.

oh...don't misunserstand....I don't have the 24-70 yet...or the 70-200...only what I listed on the first line.

im in no rush to buy new lenses. I have lots to learn with what I have now...

That was my bad, its almost 1am and i have an 8am class so what i thought i read and then wrote didnt make much sense. I would love to see your pans once you take them.

Thanks, ill make sure to perfect the pan before our meet, which hopefully won’t be to far away, and maby by then ill have a new lens. Did your speed3 come yet?

if you have some fabrication skills, you could build a small arm that reaches out from unde rhte car to attach the camera to...that owuld be the best way tp get a moving shot IMO

Yeah thats a good idea, but knowing myself i would worry constantly that even at the slow speeds that would be needed to achieve the desired effect, the rig would break sending my investment to its grave. I still owe my parents the $650 for the camera, so until i pay them back i don’t think im going to try any risky ventures with my camera. Iv seen peoples photos like your talking about and they are very cool.

No, it doesn't come in 'til March sometime... can't wait!!! I like the color of your Hatch, what percent Tint do you have?

looks good i like this one but if the car wasnt so blurry it would be a great bg with a little photoshop done to it...practice makes perfect good pics though

Well then i cant wait 'til march, for you and for me, i want to see your speed3! Oh, and the tint is 20% all around (of course not the windshield) done by sunsation window tininting out of littleton, they (or should i say he, its run out of his garage) did an A+++ job. here is his website --> http://www.sunsationtint.com/ <--.

Thanks, yeah the camera auto focused on my license plate so its rather sharp where the plate is but nothing else.
