Hey Everyone! I have owned my Mazdaspeed 3 since July 08 but I just joined this forum 5 days ago. I Just wanted to hear from people what some DO's and DONT's are for our MS3's (mainly the dont's). Just Curious to what people have to say. And I'm sure people could benefit from your advice as well.

Do tell people it's just a "mazda 3"

unless it's your insurance company. well, pluses and minuses, but I knew a guy who had an ultra-rare gmc typhoon and had it registered as a gmc blazer. when he got sideswiped he got screwed by the insurance company because according to them the value was waaaaaaay below what it was actually worth.
Don't modify the car unless you have taken all the pros and cons into consideration. For example dealership visits don't slap on mods and be like will the dealer cover this and all that bull crap.
DO: Get used to windshield ticks, smoke on accelleration and strange grinding noises from the suspension at low temperatures.

lol good one!, we all kno we can relate to those window ticks. lol when I have people in the car I make sure to turn up the music because it makes the car sound kinda cheap, same with the creaky suspension.
DONT drop the clutch when your in gear (thinking your in neutral)
I have done this on two occasions;
1. once doing about 15mph to a stop sign and I dropped the clutch into 3rd thinking it was neutral
2. the other time I was on an offramp doing about 50mph and dropped the clutch into 5th thinking I was in neutral!
I was tired and not thinking lol ... doesnt feel too good when that happens, Poor car.
has anyone else done that?? and how bad is that actually???
I have done it ...but only while sitting still. I thought I was in neutral but of course I was in gear and that will scare ya when you are not paying attention lol
