i mean straight, ie: no 2nd cat and no muffler.

i've got a resonator but i'm thinking of hacking off my n1 muffler when i get my ecv and running a straight pipe... just because.

thoughts? the word "loud" comes to mind. :D anyone done this or considered it? words of warning? criticism?

i'm toying with the idea now...

i did, hence the post. anything else you'd like to add?

j, i'm thinking it will sound alright. probably a bit high pitched, but i'm hoping it won't sound raspy. i can always change it anyway.

You like to say that kind of shit to everyone else so I figured you would like a taste of your own.

1. stop trolling me. seriously.

2. no, i don't like to say it to everyone else. in fact, i like to think i help out a lot of people who would usually get the "search" option shoved down their throats. see the recent thread about camber kits, the prokit, headers, etc etc. i generally do my part for noobs around here, if only you'd look around.

anyway... anyone else have anything on topic to contribute?

Isn't the Apex'i N1 supposed to be the one of the loudest mufflers? So you should be used to having a straight pipe already.

Interesting-- ECV instead of a muffler... I say go for it. You can always weld a muffler later on anyway.

it will be loud as hell thats for sure...but for an idea how it will sound like there is a clip of a S2000 with straight pipes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X8ZICWagyM

i actually don't have an apex'i n1, i've got a tsudo n1 which, if tsudo is to be believed, is a direct copy of the apex'i. either way, both are straight through and my exhaust is pretty loud now anyway.

i'm going to go for it. i'll have to make the ecv plate solid with little room for air flow if i expect it to be quiet during everyday travels.
