So a 6 1/2" midbass will fit the front doors???

I am looking to exchange the front oem with some older Oz Audio separates. Are there any problems with changing out the tweeters ?? Will size and depth be an issue? Also is the stock location of the tweeters still decent for imaging ? Hoping to install a set with pivoting ability.
So far all the info I have read is good to know.

As long as the 6.5" drivers are within common car-audio depth, they should fit. You will need to buy or make an adapter for the oval holes.

The stock location sounds just fine with my Focal component tweeters, which are small enough to be pointed somewhat back towards me.
we really have plenty of depth to fit most drivers, esp once you add the adapter you will need to make anyway. Which Oz speakers do you have? I installed a set of Matrix elites a while back that sounded great, same with the subs.
i have a 3/4" adapter and 3-1/2" deep drivers... should be plenty of room for maybe even 6-1/2" subs
I'm running 7 inch drivers and they fit fine you should have no issues unless they are very deep.
Thanks to all replies, sounds like these doors are better to fit than others. I have the old Superman logo Oz sets. The matrix came later. not sure if there was much difference though. I read the new new Oz are not that great at least from what Car Audio and Elec. states.
the ones I installed were several (maybe 4ish) years ago, I haven't seen any of their new stuff. I always liked the company though. I like going with non mainstream gear and supporting lesser known companies when I can.

yes they will. Here these are good adapters: http://cgi.ebay.com/6x8-5x7-to-6-Sp...ics_Parts_Accessories?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

its a great brand, they just use the ebay store.

Thanks for that - just ordered these. I had already purchased a cutting board to build my own, but I wasn't looking forward to it... $27 shipped for front and rears is more than fair for the work this saves.

:)

Update to this... Ordered a week ago on thursday night. I was hoping to have them this weekend for my install but nothing. I've tried emailing him a few times this week to see when they would be shipped/arrive but haven't heard a thing back. A lot of his feedback states that he doesn't return emails and I can confirm this...maybe they'll arrive tomorrow (Saturday) via US mail...

should have just made your own, if you have access to the tools....
Easy to say but.. I don't know what your time is worth to you - $27 is a deal for not having to screw with it.

Still waiting on them though......
he emails me all the time about the quality just for check ups. I'd email him again just to be sure.
I received them today. Out of 3 different 6.5" speakers, the adapters are too small and must be cut/modified, which is quite a pain. Should have saved my money and built my own (I know, you told me so). I've asked for a refund.
thats really weird. mine fit perfect. Sorry to hear that though.
Should have mine early next week. Posted a bunch about the stereo upgrades on different topic. Will take several pics of new upgrades and the 3 for the first time. Tinted windows and soundproofed the under carriage from Ziebart. Kind of stinky but a lot less tinking from the wells. Road noise seems nicer too. Enjoyed 2 hours of driving running appointments and drop offs today. Raced a Range Rover uphill .. he he !! smoked em" and hit 105mph on the toll way. This 3 loves to go fast.
He offered me a refund if I sent them back - and paid for the return shipping. I know this is ebay/paypal policy, that I pay to ship the item back - but I've always felt that a seller should offer to pay for the return shipping - it's a good faith thing. I've done it before for someone who plain bought the wrong item from me.

They were a little thin/flimsy, so I took the 4 that I had and glued them to make 2 thicker units, then went at them with the roto-zip to make them fit. Built 2 more from a cutting board I got from Target.

It seems ass - but after poor communication, lieing about the shipping date, then the part not fitting, then expecting me to come out of pocket to ship it back, I just left him negative feedback. Funny thing is that he emailed me asking to please leave him feedback....so I did...

ANyway - the on topic part of this thread. I put 6.5" in all 4 doors and they fit great. I'm hunting a few rattles/buzzes in the rear doors (think its in the door handle linkage), but other than that, it's rockin.

The rattle is most likely coming from the plastic lip that's part of the interior door skins. It surrounds the speaker grille openings on the inside. Just rip that junk off and you should be fine--mine buzzed even with the stock speakers in there, I was SO glad to ditch it.
Thanks, but I already pulled that off as part of the install :) I just finished the second rear (midbass) door yesterday, so I haven' had time to track them all down, but I do know that it has something to do with the door handle because if I pull just slightly (not enough to open the door), the rattle stops.
