So, lets start like this. The car I always asked about previously is gone. I traded it in on a whim for a Speed3 GT. I still kept all the goodies, so it's all good. What i'm wondering is....

With the changes to the fog lights, does anyone know what bulb i'd run in them? I really like the light output from this shape, but I want it to match my xenons. I thought about modifying a xenon kit to make it work, but that'd be expensive and silly with no projectors to control the light patterm . So halogen xenon-lookers are for me. What works?

Good luck getting an answer. I've asked all around, as I have an 07 that I'd like to put fogs in myself. I'm getting an OEM fog light kit from Baggie, but no one can seem to give a definitive answer about what the lamp size is that fits. Some are indicating its an h11 (Baggie), others on this board are saying its the 9006, and some (such as the folks at Hoen) simply say they don't know.

Someone that can shed some clear light on this would be very appreciated.

What does the owner's manual say?
[/quote]
I've gone through the owner's manual three times now, and I can't find any section that lays out the specs for any of the lamps for the 07 model. I had to do a search here to figure out what the low and high beam lamp sizes were. Trust me icspots, I've tried to look in there and find it. But maybe I'm missing it. If someone can tell me where that info is in the 06 manual, and maybe I can look in a similar location in the 07 manual and I might come across it.

I've successfully replaced my '07 MZ3 fog light bulbs with the 9006 type bulbs. It's been on for about a month now and there are no problems so far.

I may be completely missing the question here, but the bulb for all '07 fogs is 9006.

jpeace121, it's on page 10-7 in the manual for '07.

I replaced mine with xtec's from xenonexpert.com, they are not a perfect match to the HID's but they're very close, much better than stock.

So absolutely without a doubt 9006 is the correct bulb for fogs for regular 3's and speed3's for '07.

Hope that answers the question!

EDIT: i models take the H11 bulb.

Rockin. Now to find some 9006 Xtecs. Were they hard to replace?

Nope, just unscrew and pull back the bottom guard, unplug the bulb, twist and pull out. Replace.

Weren't that tough, but I had to do a lot by feel after pulling back the bottom guard. I don't know if it's because the MS3 is lower than the regular 3, or if it's because I have a disproportionately large head , but I couldn't really get my head under the car to see what I was doing that well. Even then, it took me about 20 minutes to change both bulbs, so pretty easy.

There are pics of the xtecs in action courtesy of sgon here: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=66880.msg1154765#msg1154765.
