I came across a REALLY good deal for the OEM 17" 5-spoke wheels, and I know what I want, but I'd like some general input on what others think. Like when I told my Mom that I was thinking about getting wheels off of a '04-'06 MZ3, she said, "Oh, so you want to make your car look like an older model?" :( I originally wanted to get RX-8s, but there's no way I could get RX-8s in like-new condition with TPMS for the price of the 17" 5-spokes I found.

Yeah he's asking if he should keep his snowflakes or get the 04-06 5-spokes. I don't mind the snowflakes myself, though they seem to be hated around here.

You should be able to reuse your TPMS sensors in the RX8s. I have CX7s and the tire shop (Les Schwab) transfered the sensors over from my OEM 16"s without issue. But between the snowflakes and 5 spokes......I'd have to say 5 spokes for weight savings mainly.

In all honestly, I like the snowflakes. They just go so well with the front bumper and the lines for some reason. I think the 5-spokes are too fat and boring.

i had a 5 spoke, wait, 6 spoke, on my previous car. However the 17" 5 spoke just doesn't do that Viagra thing for me.. no excitement.

i like the 16" better for the design of the 2 styles. but picking the 2 17's I'd have to go with the snowflake....

i'd rather use the money for something else, or different aftermarket wheels.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'd rather have a louder car than a car that looks two years older than it is.

Dammit, I was all set to start calling exhaust shops tomorrow, but then a friend of mine did a PS of the wheels for me. I want them again. :p

I have a sedan, and I have snowflakes. I'm thrown up between RX-8s and speed3 rims.

I think what I'm going to do is pick up RX8s because I found them locally for a good deal WITH tpms and tires. then later on next year or something, pick up speed 3 rims for a winter or summer setup.

I used to like the five spoke more than the snowflakes, but that was before I got a set of 16" 5 spokers to use as winter wheels. Now, I think I like the snowflakes better.

Maybe it's because the 5 spokes I have are smaller, and fill up the wheelwell less, I don't know.
