Well it has started already dammit, but I am stopping at this for at least 6 months. Everything for a 350z is so damn expensive, and I refuse to charge anything on a credit card.

Ordered this intake (which I believe is a rebranded Simota):

And this exhaust:

What do you think about the tips - polish out the burnt look or keep it? I cant decide.

Its a sickness really.
But other than a plenum or spacer, and a tune I will be done performance wise. All that should get me over 25hp (minus all the bullshit claims) which would put the z right around 260-270hp at the wheels. Not huge, but streetable, with no issues. There are z's making huge numbers, but I dont want/need the hassle of maintaining a 500-600hp car and all the quirks that go along with it.

Cosmetically, this is my favorite since they make basically everything in carbon fiber for the z. I could literally replace every single body panel with CF. Nose, fenders, hood, doors, trunk, rear fenders, tonneau, - everything. That would be overkill, and I am not planning on any of that (other than mirrors, a rear spoiler, and some trim pieces), but its crazy to see how much stuff is available compared to the 3.

What do you guys think for the z,

#1:

#2:

#3:

18 or 19?

Obviously 19s would mean +$ for new tires, but do you think the polished lip would make the wheel look small with 18s?

I have been looking at a bunch of Zs with lips and they just look awesome, so I am seriously considering new rims.

Personally, I was leaning more towards #1 or #3

If I had a BBK or Brembo calipers then #2 would be great, but I think the thin 5 spoke might show off more rusty rotor on a non-show car.

The cool thing about wheel #1 is I can still get the wide lip look in a staggered rim - here are the specs:
Sizes Lip Depth
18x8 1.75"
18x9.5 3"
19x8 1.75"
19x9.5 3"
All have an offset of +20

For wheel #3 the specs are a little different:
Sizes Lip Depth
18x8 1"
18x9.5 2.75"
19x8 1"
19x9.5 2.75"
All have an offset of +20
For wheel #3 I would prolly get 9.5 all the way around, and just stagger the tire sizes to fit front/back

numero tres

though #3 style is commoned on Z's I still think it would look great. #2 looks different and it would actually be a nice second choice, but only if you go with a brake, caliper upgrade.

That's why I am leaning more towards 18s over 19s, I dont want wheels that are too heavy. I know there are much lighter wheels than TSW, but they are 2-3 times the price. Price of tires is cheaper too, which is a plus - and If I use the 18x8s in the front I can reuse the exisiting tires which have less than 1k on them.

And the ride will be smoother - the stock Z is already pretty low and stiffly sprung.

I have owned TSWs in the past and they are tough wheels - I had a set of 5 spokes on my old Mustang and hit a crater of a pothole at 40+, fubar'd the tire but the rim wasnt even scratched.

If your trying to entice me over to 5Zigen, using kspec as an example isnt the way to go...

But anyway, those rims arent the look or the fitment I am going for, they look good on the 3, but I dont care for them on the Z.

I went to the local Speed Shop on Saturday to check out the three styles of wheels in person, and ordered the TSW Nardo's (wheel #1):

18x8 front
18x9.5 rear

Gonna re-use the 225/45/18 Toyo Proxes4 which are currently on the car, and get 2 new 255/45/18 Toyo's for the rear.

With tax and everything (new lugs and locks and hub rings) it came out to $1600. Not the best price, but considering that they are removing and remounting the TPMS sensors to the new wheels, it would have been only $100 less to get the stuff online. And alot more hassle having to get the wheels sent to a shop and bring the car seperately, plus the labor of doing the tire/TPMS swap.
