I was outside taking off the covers on the right side to paint them ... and i found masking tape ... and found it real sketchy.. can anyone give me any explainations? I did buy the car used w/ 11k miles on it .. its an 06 S Hatchback

I saw several of those when I was replacing the horn, and in the same locations. They look harmless; just masking tape with some markings on a few of them. They didn't look like they were holding anything together so I just took them off. My car was purchased new so it probably wasn't something that the previous owner put on yours.

Found tape like this in a couple places in the engine bay of mine & the parts mngr. I talked to said it was used at the factory to help mark certain things during assembly.

I have traces of masking tape too. I thought the installers for my aftermarket alarm got really cheap, but then I remembered this is a Mazda... it's a factory option lol.
